The Cabinet devotes its weekly session to follow up Israeli aggression against Jenin, and Prime Minister affirms that International silence and double standards encourage the occupying Power to commit more crimes, and what happened in Jenin is a natural consequence of the perpetrators' and murderers' feeling of impunity, Dr. Shtayyeh added.

During the weekly Cabinet session, the Council of Ministers focused on monitoring the Israeli aggression against Jenin. The Prime Minister emphasized that the international community's silence and double standards have emboldened the occupying Power to commit further atrocities. The recent events in Jenin are a natural outcome of the perpetrators' and murderers' feeling of impunity. The Council of Ministers expressed their condolences to the families of the five martyrs, including children, and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the attacks.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Cabinet views the Israeli Government's ratification of measures to accelerate settlement in the West Bank with utmost gravity. He called on all Member States of the Security Council to condemn the action, which would prevent the establishment of the State of Palestine and destabilize the region's security. The Prime Minister stated that this step is a flagrant aggression on our land and a slap to the members of the Security Council who adopted resolution 2334, condemning settlements expansion and demanding its cessation. The Prime Minister added that Palestinian response will not be limited to condemnation, and we will defend our land. Dr. Shtayyeh further underlined that international silence and double standards encourage the occupying Power to exert further killing, demolitions, and intimidation against our people, and stated that as long as the perpetrators and murderers feel impunity, their crimes will not stop.

Dr. Shtayyeh demanded the release of the bodies of the martyrs on behalf of the Council of Ministers. He stressed that the Cabinet is following this up with all international bodies, and emphasized that the detention of prisoner’s dead bodies is one of Israel's most heinous crimes, which prevents a dignified burial ceremonies for martyrs and a well-deserved farewell from their families. With regard to the new legislation to be enacted by the Israeli government, about the imprisonment of Palestinian children, specifically Jerusalemites under the age of 12, the Prime minister stated that this is a crime against humanity, and a grave violation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and all international instruments. PM called on United Nations institutions, the Red Cross, and all human rights and international law advocates to act to against these inhumane measures.

In terms of bilateral relations, the Council of Ministers expressed appreciation for the outcomes of President Abbas’s visit to the Republic of China, culminated in the declaration of a strategic partnership between the two countries, and affirmed the readiness of the relevant ministries to begin work on the implementation of the agreed trade, industrial and investment issues and accelerate negotiations for the establishment of a free trade zone between China and Palestine.
