Strategic Economic Development Initiative (1): Renewable Energy Program for Palestine
Key target(s): 1) Embark on an ambitious program to generate 500MW of electricity from solar (400MW in the West Bank and 100MW in Gaza). 2) Work with relevant stakeholders to upgrade the electricity infrastructure, including the construction of high-voltage electricity transmission lines across the West Bank and in Gaza.
Strategic Economic Development Initiative (2): Localization of Health Services
Key target(s): 1) Enhance public investments in priority areas in line with the nenewed Ministry of Health’s mandate to improve the quality of service delivery in the health sector. 2) Paying the accumulated arrears to the heath sector to enable the providers of healthcare services, medicine, and medical supplies to resume their operations in a more viable and sustainable business environment.
Strategic Economic Development Initiative (3): Accelerating Digital Transformation and Enabling the Digital Economy
Key target(s): 1) Full digitization of government operations in line with the Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Economy’s vision to reduce operational costs and improve quality of services. 2) Update the legal framework and regulatory environment, including the adoption and implementation of laws related to Digital ID, Data Privacy, Digital Signature, e-commerce and more. 3) Update the digital infrastructure by providing high speed internet connectivity, governmental data centers, and the overall IT infrastructure required for business sector innovation. 4) Support localization of technology through harnessing human capital, improving IT skills, and advancing emerging technology trends.
Strategic Economic Development Initiative (4): A Comprehensive Social Protection Program to Help the Most Vulnerable and Marginalized
Key target(s): 1) In partnership with international organizations, support urgent aid and assistance to provide immediate relief to Gaza’s most vulnerable groups by addressing basic needs such as shelter, food, water, and medical care. 2) Resuming the operations of the Cash Transfers Program (CTP) to provide predictable financial assistance to vulnerable households in Gaza and in the West Bank.
Strategic Economic Development Initiative (5): Private Sector Recovery and Diversification Program
Key target(s): 1) Support economic revival and early recovery efforts in productive sectors across the West Bank and Gaza. 2) Enable GDP growth, job creation, and increased competitiveness. 3) Diversify the Palestinian economy, with focus on SMEs in productive economic activities.
