Ramallah – Prime Minister Office - Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Mohammed Mustafa, called on the international community to take urgent action to stop the Israeli occupation’s aggression against our people in the Gaza Strip, boost relief efforts, and curb Israeli colonial-settler attacks in the West Bank.

This came during a meeting in Ramallah with more than 50 members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the State of Palestine as well as representatives of international organizations and institutions. Mustafa briefed them on the severity of the continued Israeli colonial-settler attacks and the Israel occupations’ policies in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip.

The Prime Minister further emphasized that the reform program being undertaken by the government aims to strengthen institutional functioning, in order to provide the best services to citizens and enhance the principles of transparency, integrity, anti-corruption, and spending rationalization.

He also informed the audience of the difficult financial situation that the government is going through as a result of the illegal deductions from clearance revenues withheld by Israel, in addition to the decline in international support.

"Achieving peace and stability in the region hinges on ending the Israeli occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital," said the Prime Minister, pointing out that the international community, which believes in the two-state solution, recognizes the state of Israel, and it is now time to recognize the State of Palestine as a full member state of the United Nations.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of maintaining the United Nations Agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) and continuing the support provided to it, calling on countries that have suspended their support to resume it, to ensure the continued provision of services to our people in the refugee camps.
