Ramallah – Prime Minister’s Office - Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, discussed with the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, in a phone call, the ongoing Israeli genocidal war against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the attacks by the Israeli occupation forces and settlers in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

During the call, Mustafa stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to halt the war on Gaza, stepping up pressure to open all Gaza crossings, and ensuring the unimpeded entry of additional relief and humanitarian aid, especially to northern Gaza, where our people face intensified aggression, forced displacement and starvation. He also emphasized the need to end the grave Israeli escalation in the West Bank, including the daily incursion into Palestinian cities, villages, and refugee camps, relentless killings, arrests, land confiscation for settlement expansion, and legitimization of more settlement outposts.

On behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas, the Government, and the Palestinian people, the Prime Minister conveyed deep appreciation to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Egyptian government, and the people of Egypt for their unwavering support of the Palestinian people, their just cause, and their legitimate rights to end the occupation and realize the establishment of the independent Palestinian state.

For his part, the Egyptian Foreign Minister condemned Israel's military operations and actions in northern Gaza, denouncing the obstacles imposed by the Israeli army on humanitarian aid entry to Gaza and its control over the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing. He also denounced the undermining and obstruction of the work of humanitarian organizations and United Nations agencies, as well as the targeting of a large number of UN personnel and official bodies, particularly UNRWA.

He further condemned the intensifying Israeli attacks on West Bank cities and refugee camps, as well as Israel's attempts to legitimize and expand illegal settlement outposts in direct violation of international law and United Nations Security Council resolutions. The Egyptian Foreign Minister underscored the need for a proactive role by the international community in supporting UNRWA’s essential work for Palestinian refugees.
