Cairo, February 5, 2025, Prime Minister’s Office – Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammad Mustafa met Wednesday, in Cairo with Egyptian Minister of Foreign and Immigration Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdel Aty. The two officials discussed the latest developments in Palestine, coordination of political positions, and, most notably, the unequivocal and categorical rejection of any forced displacement plans targeting the Palestinian people in the entire Palestinian Territory, especially the Gaza Strip. They also emphasized the Palestinian Government’s assumption of its responsibilities in the Gaza Strip as an integral and inseparable part of the State of Palestine.

Mustafa and Abdel Aty explored ways to strengthen coordination to maximize relief efforts for the Palestinian people in Gaza. This includes supporting the Palestinian Government in implementing its Relief, Early Recovery and Emergency Response plan, addressing urgent humanitarian needs, clearing debris, providing temporary shelter, and rehabilitating partially damaged homes in preparation for comprehensive reconstruction in cooperation with international partners.

During the meeting, Mustafa underscored the urgent need for international pressure on Israel, the occupying Power, to halt its escalating aggression on the West Bank, particularly in the northern governorates and refugee camps. He highlighted the severe and tight siege, destruction of infrastructure, demolition of homes and facilities, and the forced displacement of Palestinian citizens.

For his part, Minister Abdel Aty reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering support for the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people; stressing the critical need of reaching a just and lasting political solution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-State solution and the embodiment of the independent Palestinian state—ensuring a permanent and final end to Israeli aggression.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister also emphasized the importance of empowering the Palestinian Authority politically and economically, enabling it to assume its responsibilities in the Gaza Strip, and rejecting any displacement plans form Gaza. He further outlined Egypt’s efforts to ensure the sustainability of the ceasefire agreement in Strip and the full implementation of all its provisions across its three phases. Additionally, Abdel Aty reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for the Palestinian Government and its reform plans.

The meeting was attended by Palestinian Minister of Interior Major General Ziad Hab al-Rih, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wael Zakout, and Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt Diab al-Louh.
