Chaired by H.E PM Al-Hamdallah, the Palestinian Cabinet asks the International community not to ignore its responsibility of the suffering of our citizens, and to support the Palestinian leadership efforts led by President Abbas in utilizing all UN and in

The Palestinian Cabinet headed by PM Dr. Rami Hamdallah condemned the continued Israeli crimes against the Palestinian unarmed protesters after the US veto, especially the killing of the 21 years old Palestinian youth, Izz Al-Din Tamimi. The Cabinet considered the extrajudicial killings of Palestinians a war crime against humanity upon international laws.

Further, The Palestinian Government expressed its full support to the Palestinian leadership efforts to appeal to the UN General Assembly to hold its emergency meeting on providing international protection to Palestinian civilians. In addition to that, the Government praised the Palestinian growing efforts to join international conventions and organizations, with the most recent accession of 7 international conventions and treaties, including the Second Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights for the abolition of the death penalty.

Moreover, the Cabinet denounced the Israeli misleading campaign to confuse the public opinion, undermine the Palestinian government efforts in Gaza, and divert the attention from the real causes of the suffering of our citizens in the Gaza Strip, as well as the issue of salaries, which absolves the occupation from the responsibility of imposing 11 years of blockage and three devastating aggressions. Yet, the Government held Hamas responsible for its black coup to impose its control over Gaza while completely ignoring the suffering of our citizens.

The cabinet also strongly criticized the latest Israeli draft resolution that prohibits the filming of Israeli soldiers, the Palestinian Cabinet considers such act an attempt to hide the Israeli crimes against Palestinians, encourage the Israeli soldiers to commit more violations, and limit the freedom of journalism, in a clear violation to the U.N resolution No. 2222.

Ending its session, the Cabinet stressed the government’s continued commitment towards paying the salaries of its employees in the Gaza Strip over the past 11 years, despite all challenges and affirmed its continuous efforts in developing the health sector in the Gaza Strip. In this regard, the Cabinet approved the protocol for the delivery and joint operation of the Palestine- Turkey Hospital for Friendship with the cost of $75 million in the Gaza Strip, which will be serving all Palestinian citizens with a capacity of 180 beds.
