During its weekly meeting held Tuesday in Ramallah, the Palestinian Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Rami Al-Hamdallah, hailed the Palestinian national decision, led by the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), as the only route for achieving a just and lasting peace and condemned the US withdrawal from the UN Human Rights Council.
Moreover, The Palestinian Cabinet heavily praised Arab and international countries for supporting the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and for rejecting the Trump Administration’s “deal of the century” aimed at undermining all international laws and UN resolutions protecting Palestinian rights.
The Palestinian Cabinet also denounced the US fund cuts to the UNRWA, leading it into a financial crisis that might endanger basic services provided to 5 million Palestinian refugees and deprive more than 500,000 children at UNRWA schools from their right to education.
Further, the Cabinet thanked the Italian President Sergio Mattarella for the decoration of PM Al- Hamdallah as a “Grand Officer” upon the “Honorable Order of Star of Italy,” presented by the Italian Consul General to Palestine, Fabio Solowiczs, at the National Day of Italy.
In addition, the Cabinet emphasized that the road to peace is clear through adopting the initiative of President Abbas to hold an international peace conference and to form an international multilateral mechanism to foster serious negotiations based on international legitimacy resolutions within a definite timetable. The Cabinet confirmed the international law as the shortest and most effective way to achieve the internationally adopted two-state solution.
