The Palestinian Cabinet confirms the Palestinian issue has been and will always be an essential key to achieving international peace and security and condemns the latest Israeli Knesset law withholding Palestinian money

During its weekly meeting held in Ramallah today, the Palestinian Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Rami Al- Hamdallah confirmed that all Palestinian citizens support the Palestinian Leadership efforts, led by President Abbas to provide protection to our fundamental rights.

The Cabinet also expressed its rejection to any economic path or proposal to resolve the Palestinian issue at the expense of the inevitable rights of the Palestinian people such as their right to freedom, self-determination, and return stressing the importance of ending the internal political division, achieving national reconciliation and unity.

Further, the Cabinet considered the so-called “deal of the century” as merely a package of previously prepared Israeli right-wing plans that constitute a cover for the implementation of Israeli illegal settlement construction and provide the best opportunities for Israel to speed up its colonial expansion in the region. Such reprehensible acts appeared clearly through the latest Israeli demolition verdict against Khan al- Ahmar Bedouin Community, the expansion of the so-called "Har Gilo" illegal colonial settlement, and through confiscating wide areas of the Al- Walaja village and isolating it from the surrounding Palestinian areas. In the same context, the Prime Minister’s Office has released a joint statement by the Palestinian Presidency Bureau, the Palestine Liberation Organization on the Imminent Threat of Forcible Transfer Facing the Palestinian Bedouin Community of Khan al-Ahmar Abu al-Helu

The Cabinet condemned the Israeli Knesset legislation to deduct the allowances of prisoners and martyrs from Palestinian tax revenues, stating that this step is real financial piracy and theft to the Palestinian funds, and another clear Israeli violation of signed agreements, especially the Paris Economic Protocol.

In a different context, the Cabinet praised the latest decision of Socialists International to recognize the State of Palestine, provide international protection to the Palestinian people, support commissions of inquiry into Israeli crimes, boycott and impose sanctions on Israel, the occupying Power.

The Cabinet also deplored Israel, the Occupying Power for preventing the Special Rapporteur on the situation of Human Rights in the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967 from entering to Palestine since his mandate. The Palestinian Cabinet considered this a clear proof of Israel’s continuous attempts to conceal the truth of its crimes in occupied Palestine.

The Cabinet, yet, commended the fruitful meetings with the Special Rapporteur, which successfully exposed Israeli practices and violations of the international laws and human rights through facts and reports. This would assist him in submitting his report to the UN Secretary-General.
