The Palestinian Cabinet condemns the outrageous settlers attacks against Palestinian citizens, decides to ban importing olive oil this season to protect the national product, calls for broad participation in demos against the 'Deal of the Century’, and deplores the Israeli decision to deport the representative of Human Rights Watch.

In his opening statement, during the weekly Cabinet meeting held in Ramallah today, Prime Minister Dr. Mohammed Shtayyeh condemned the systematic attacks by Israli settlers against Palestinian citizens, their property, land and holy sites in various parts of the West Bank. Additionally, the Prime Minister deplored the incursions of thousands of settlers to the Al-Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Hebron under the protection of the Israeli Occupying Forces, which closed the mosque in the face of worshipers and prevented the calls for prayer as well as attacks against citizens in the vicinity of the Haram al-Sharif, and the closure of shops in the area. In this regard, Dr. Shtayyeh considered this wave of attack as a new episode of plans aimed at controlling the historic, religious and archaeological sites in Hebron and forging its architectural identity. Therefore, his Excellency called on all humanitarian, human rights and international organizations to expose these racist practices, to provide international protection to the defenseless Palestinian civilians, and to oblige Israel as an occupying power to abide by the Fourth Geneva Convention for the Protection of Civilian persons.

In the same context, Prime Minister Dr. Shtayyeh stressed that affected citizens by such attacks would file complaints to the national courts. The Palestinian Cabinet, accordingly, held the Israeli government and the US administration fully and directly responsible for the consequences of these attacks, especially after the latest announcement of the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on legislating settlement.

The Cabinet, over and above, deplored the Israeli decision to deport the representative of Human Rights Watch in Palestine, Omar Shakir, as a clear evidence to the world on the dangers of the Israeli occupation and its systematic violations of human rights in the State of Palestine as well as its rejection of any kind of documentation for its crimes.

Separately, the Cabinet saluted the Palestinian citizens on the fifteenth anniversary of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, held yearly on November 29th.

To conclude, the Cabinet called for mass participation in the demonstrations and national events organized by unions and institutions at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, in an expression of protest and rejection of the 'Deal of the Century’ and its outcomes on the ground, which resulted with relocating the US Embassy to Jerusalem, and considering Jerusalem as the capital of Israel as well as abolishing the UNRWA, and legislating settlements.
