Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh Meets the Heads of the Security Services

During the meeting, held today at his office in Ramallah, the Prime Minister discussed the importance of raising the level of security presence in the areas which are most vulnerable to the virus outbreak, including south Hebron, villages and towns in the northeast and northwest of Jerusalem, villages near the Israeli settlements, as well as those adjacent to the Green Line.

From their side, the heads of the security services presented their security plans for the upcoming months, which consider the persistence of the state of emergency.

The Prime Minister saluted the work of the security services in cooperation with all the national and popular bodies, indicating the success of the security and healthcare workers in terms of reducing the movement to its minimum, which resulted in the limited number of COVID-19 infections.

The Prime Minister concluded: “The current test of our procedures is to deal with thousands of workers returning from their workplaces in Israel. We have so far succeeded in completely controlling the situation in Bethlehem with no new cases being registered in the city, and the infection didn't spread from it.  We are as well controlling the bridges and crossing points  in coordination with Jordan and Egypt and are stopping the danger of having infected cases coming from abroad.”
