During his opening statement at the weekly Cabinet meeting, held in Ramallah today, Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh extended his condolences to the families of martyr Iyad Hallak and martyr Fadi Qa’d, and condemned their assassination by the Israeli occupying forces. He stated:

• Israel must stop its systematic 'shoot-to –kill’ policy, which is taking the lives of our youth.
• One week has passed since the opening of commercial and public places. We call upon our citizens to fully adhere to the public safety conditions, especially in workplaces, mosques, and churches to avoid a return to our previous procedures. Today, only one new COVID-19 case was recorded in Hajja village (in the Qalqilya Governorate), while four cases have fully recovered in Beit Ula village (in the Hebron Governorate).
• Tomorrow, we will submit a comprehensive report concerning our economic and financial situation to the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC) meeting, to be attended by 40 countries and institutions from around the world.
• The donors are here with us to support the economy and build up the institutions towards the establishment of a sovereign State of Palestine on the borders of 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital and the right to return of refugees per international law and legitimacy. This meeting is critical in terms of its timing and agenda.
• Today, the Cabinet will finalize plans related to the leadership’s decision, headed by President Mahmoud Abbas, that Palestine is absolved of all agreements with Israel.
• The Cabinet calls upon the international community to thwart the Israeli annexation decision and stop its implementation due to the significant risks is poses on Palestine, our national liberation project, and regional security.
• The Cabinet will also discuss the establishment of a bank or a financial institution that manages the public money and expenses. Accordingly, the Cabinet will submit the necessary recommendations in this regard to the President.
