Under the auspices of Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh, the Government of Palestine, represented by Khaled al-Osaily, the Minister of National Economy, and the United Kingdom Government, represented by Philip Hall, the British Consul General, signed an agreement, worth fifteen million sterling pounds for a new Trade Facilitation & Customs Support Programme (TFCS), which aims to improve the trade performance and customs capabilities in Palestine.

The agreement, funded by the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), will reduce the cost of moving Palestinian goods across borders, support development of Palestinian trade-related institutions, strengthen the competitiveness of the private sector to export and create jobs.
