Yesterday was a memorable day. Our people in the homeland and in exile commemorated 74 years of the Nakba Day, which coincides this year with more Israeli killing attacks against the defenseless Palestinian citizens without any regard for international laws and resolutions.
We call on the international community to impose sanctions on Israel, the occupying Power, implement decisions/ resolutions to boycott the occupying Power, and provide international protection for our people.
A few days ago, I participated in the AHLC meeting in Brussels, Belgium. Participants at the meeting condemned Israel's illegal settlement enterprise, and demanded Israel to immediately release our withheld tax revenues. We also called on the European Union to fulfil all its [financial] pledges and support the Palestinian people.
We call on the US administration and European countries to intervene urgently to stop the implementation of the new Israeli settlement plans to build 4427 settlement units in the West Bank. Such plans undermine the possibility to achieve the two-state solution and threaten peace and stability in the region.
We also call upon the Spanish “CAF” Company to halt its intention to provide Israel with 57 trams for the construction of the Jerusalem cable car project. These actions are a violation of international law and international legitimacy.
We also consider the decision of the Israeli court, which approved the forcible displacement of the residents of the Palestinian communities in Masafer Yatta, is an unjust, illegal and illegitimate decision. The UNSC and its member states that voted in favor of Resolution 2334 are required to assume their responsibilities to prevent the forcible displacement of our people in Masafer Yatta.
