Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh Meets with President of European Commission

 

Today, Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, discussed the latest political developments, European support for Palestine, and mutual cooperation in various sectors, including food security and energy.

The Prime Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation for the resumption of EU aid to Palestine. He stated: "We thank the EU for resuming its financial support to Palestine. Europe is the main donor to Palestine and our partner towards achieving peace and justice."

The Prime Minister urged Europe to pressure Israel to stop its continued illegal policies against the Palestinian people that also aim to destroy the two-state solution.

The Prime Minister also called on the EU to oblige Israel to follow through on its commitments per signed agreements, including allowing the holding of general elections in occupied Jerusalem and all occupied Palestine.
