We salute and appreciate the Catalonia Parliament for passing a resolution recognizing that Israel is committing the crime of apartheid against the Palestinian people, becoming the first European parliament to do so.

We remind everyone of our right to gas and our natural resources that are being looted by the occupying Power. The world should remember this very well and should not encourage the occupying state in its violation of the rights of the Palestinian people and their land, including killings, forced eviction and displacement, colonial settlement as well as theft of water, gas and natural resources.

The colonial Israeli plan to build a settlement park between Jerusalem and the Dead Sea on an area of about one million dunams is the last bullet at the remaining opportunities for the two-state solution. This colonial scheme would lead to the isolation of occupied Jerusalem from the rest of the West Bank and the division of the West Bank into two separate areas, north and south. We call on the international community and everyone who supports the two-state solution to take action to stop this outrageous aggression.

The draft bill that was submitted to the Israeli Knesset to ban raising the Palestinian flag in the Israeli- controlled areas of the West Bank, mainly in the so-called “Area C”, is further evidence of the colonial intentions of the occupation government, and an additional indication that the occupying state did not retreat from the idea of annexing the West Bank and the so-called “Area C”.
