The Cabinet salutes the strong, courageous and firm stance of President Mahmoud Abbas during his meeting with the U.S. President in Bethlehem, which affirmed the Palestinian national rights to freedom, and independence, the right to self-determination, ending the occupation, and establishing an independent State of Palestine, with Jerusalem as its capital.

We salute the firm Arab position towards the Palestinian cause, which was manifested in the Jeddah summit. Palestine and its just cause will remain a key for peace and stability in the region and the whole world. We thank Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, for their willingness to contribute to supporting Jerusalem hospitals Network.

As US President Joe Biden's visit to the region has ended, the occupation government announced the approval of new settlement plans/ schemes in various parts of the West Bank. These plans aim to confiscate hundreds of dunums of lands in the Bethlehem and Ramallah governorates in order to establish 30 settlement units. We call on the US administration to stop these plans/ schemes that would undermine the two-state solution.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida, the Japanese government and people on the death of Japan's former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

On behalf of the Cabinet, we welcome the decision of the nine European states that rejected the occupation government's 'terrorist’ designation of six Palestinian NGOs.
