Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh stated: “Through its decision to reverse previous recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, Australia has affirmed its commitment to the two-state solution per its belief in the values of truth, justice, freedom, and support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.”

He added: “We commend Australia and call on its government to recognize the State of Palestine.”
