Summary of Key Remarks by Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh Ahead of the Cabinet 202 Meeting

 

Speaking at the outset of the cabinet weekly meeting held in Ramallah, Prime minister Dr. Shtayyeyh wishes a Happy Orthodox Easter to all who are celebrating, and a happy end of Ramadan for upcoming Eid al-Fitr holidays.  
As this meeting coincides with the commemoration of Khalil al-Wazir's martyrs and with the occasion of Palestinian Prisoners' Day, the cabinet emphasized loyalty to the martyrs and prisoners, and stressed that they are a top priority, especially old prisoners, elderly, sick prisoners, children and women., where today there are 4900 prisoners held in 23 prisons and detention centers, including 31 women prisoners and 160 children.

The Council of Ministers expresses deep concern over what is currently happening in Sudan, and wishes peace, stability, and security to our people in Sudan, hoping that the voice of wisdom will prevail and that dialogue will be used to spare the Sudan further chaos.  The Cabinet expressed regret at the disruption of all UNRWA services in Palestinian refugee camps in various sectors, and called on UNRWA to carry out its duties in all refugee camps, provide services to the refugees, and urged them to open a dialogue with the Workers' Union, to ensure the resumption of all services to our people in refugee camps.
