
Speaking at the outset of the cabinet weekly meeting, Prime minister, Dr. Shtayyeh spoke about Israeli raids on Bab Al-Rahma prayer area and Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, and further addressed the attacks on the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the rest of the churches in Jerusalem. During this session, the Palestinian Prime Minister also called for an urgent intervention to lift the siege imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities on Jericho and called for ceasing Israeli incursions into Aqabat Jaber refugee camp.
Prime Minister stressed that "Bab Al-Rahma prayer area is an integral part of Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, and no one else has a legitimate right to it", and condemned Israeli police storming into the Bab al-Rahma area and destroying it in a blatant violation of the sanctity of this holy site.
On another note, Dr. Shtayyeh thanked the Arab States that had cooperated with Palestine and facilitated the evacuation of Palestinian nationals and students from the Sudan, especially Algeria, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, and he thanked them on behalf of the Council of Ministers. The Prime Minister added: "We are following up through the civil and security state representatives and our embassies in the neighboring countries of the Sudan to complete the evacuation of our citizens, we hope the State of the Sudan peace and security, and that the spirit of dialogue prevail over the language of guns”.
