Summary of Key Remarks by Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh Ahead of the Cabinet 207 Meeting


 

Speaking at the outset of the weekly cabinet meeting, Dr. Shtayyeh emphasized that no flag marches, nor tunnel meetings or military incursions will gain the occupation any legitimacy. PM reiterated that Occupation crimes are systematic, and consistent standards based on international law must be established to address Israeli crimes. 

The Prime Minister said that the occupation and its sovereignty over Jerusalem are alleged, and the Israeli narrative is false, not based on history or any scientific or objective input.  Prime Minister added: “A local, Arab and international plan must be developed to counter Israeli systematic crimes, Israeli violations, and targeted executions, as what happened in Balata refugee camp at dawn today, were three Palestinians from Nablus were martyred, namely: Fathi Rizk, Abdullah Abu Hamdan and Mohammed Zaytun”.  Dr. Shtayyeh elaborated, this plan must address Al-Aqsa incursions, settlements expansions, the seizure of more land in Deir al-Hatab, and demolition of shops in Hebron, as well as the continued aggression against the city of Jerusalem and its holy places. 

The Palestinian Cabinet further demanded the International Red Cross and the United Nations to intervene immediately to save the life of the prisoner Walid Daqqa, whose health condition has been gradually deteriorating. The Prime Minister also demanded the need for UNESCO to act on what is happening in Al-Aqsa Mosque, and demanded that they send a specialized team to inspect the risks facing Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to take the necessary measures to protect the mosque from collapse.
