Prime Minister, Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh described the Israeli military escalation in the occupied territories as nothing but a recipe for a major explosion fueled by Israel’s extreme measures. 

Speaking at the outset of the cabinet weekly meeting held in Ramallah, the cabinet discussed the occupation new measures for military escalations fueled by Israel's various governmental bodies, essentially proposed for Israel’s election propaganda. Dr. Shtayyeh said Israel is hiding behind the absence of a political horizon and the world’s preoccupation with Ukraine, and called on the international community to establish consistent standards according to international law. 

As the 29th anniversary of the Oslo Accords is approaching, the Prime Minister said that Israel had left nothing of the agreement, “Israel has canceled and disregarded most of its provisions, and abolished its political, economic, and geographic annexes, refrained from negotiating permanent status issues, and continued with its unilateral measures, foremost among them is settlements” he added. The Prime Minister also tackled Israel’s financial deductions in violation of the agreement, and Israel’s suspension of the release of the fourth batch of prisoners, which was supposed to include Karim Younis, sick prisoners, and others, all in violation of the agreement. 

Dr. Shtayyeh urged the international community to reconcile and look at what Israel is doing towards Palestinians, and demanded Israel to cease its systematic aggression. The PM stressed that Palestinians are resilient, and will not surrender until the occupation is defeated. Dr. Shtayyeh further emphasized that Israeli Occupation’s violations and abolition of most Oslo Accord terms prompts the Palestinians to rethink their stand towards it, “Israel has violated and even canceled most of the terms of the agreements signed with us, and this requires that we pause and think about this matter,” Dr. Shtayyeh added. 

The Prime Minister highlighted that Israel keeps telling the world that it wants to strengthen the position of the Palestinian Authority (PA), but what Israel is actually doing is targeting its efforts towards destroying the Palestinian Authority (PA) and undermine its institutions.

The Prime Minister concluded this session by affirming the Palestinians national rights; to end the Israeli Occupation and enforce international legality. He further demanded to end Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip, the aggression against Jerusalem, and settlements expansion.
