Israel is practicing organized state terrorism and continues to commit its crimes against Palestinians, the latest of which was the killing of the 3-year-old Muhammad al-Tamimi from Nabi Saleh village and the injury of his father and a number of his family members. This comes as part of a systematic policy to terrorize Palestinian children and undermine the opportunity to establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. The Palestinian Prime Minister also offered his heartfelt condolences for the family of the martyred child, Mohammad al-Tamimi.

Speaking at the outset of the weekly cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh extended his thanks to the Arab Republic of Egypt, and extended his appreciation to the Egyptian president, the government and Egyptian people, for the warm reception that the Palestinian ministerial delegation enjoyed during its latest visit to Egypt last week. Dr. Shtayyeh expressed his appreciation for Egyptian support, and for their stand towards Palestinian rights. Dr. Shtayyeh added: “I extend my thanks and appreciation to the Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and his staff, for facilitating this visit a great success, as we look forward with confidence to building on its outputs and deepen cooperation in various fields of common interest, especially in the economic, financial, commercial, agricultural, educational, and religious fields”.

The cabinet also commemorated the 56th anniversary of the 1967 Naksa, during which Israel occupied the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, violating international laws that demanded Israel’s immediate withdrawal to the borders of June 4th. Prime Minister Dr. Shtayyeh highlighted Israel’s ongoing organized state terrorism, which undermines the opportunity to establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, stressing that Palestinian resistance will continue until liberation.

The cabinet also welcomed a new report prepared by 21 heads of European missions to Palestine, which emphasized the Israeli legal plans aimed at changing the historical status quo in Jerusalem, settlers’ terrorism, and other various occupation measures; foremost of which is settlement expansion, house demolitions, attacks on holy places, education restrictions, and many other violations of Palestinian human rights. The Prime Minister called on the governments of the European Union countries to take this report seriously, and to assume their responsibilities in curbing these measures and holding the occupying power accountable for them under international law.

Prime Minister concluded this session by thanking the United Mexican States for upgrading Palestine’s diplomatic mission in Mexico to the 'Embassy of the State of Palestine’ and called on other countries to follow in Mexico's footsteps. The Prime Minister also welcomed International stands of the countries that participated in the UNRWA donors' conference, which took place to emphasize the important role of the UNRWA in providing services to millions of Palestinian refugees. He also welcomed the financial pledges announced at the conference, and affirmed that the stability of the UNRWA budget requires securing sufficient and sustainable funding. PM, Dr. Shtayyeh called on the United Nations and its Secretary-General to increase its financial contributions from its regular budget to support the budget of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for Palestine Refugees.
