The Prime Minister, Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh, has called for urgent international action against Israel's targeted killing of Palestinians. The Prime Minister has declared that the aggression against Aqabat Jaber refugee camp is a major crime and a violation of international law, and that ongoing crimes of occupation against Palestinians must cease immediately. Dr. Shtayyeh further stressed that Palestinians will not bow to the extortion of the occupation authorities, and that prisoners' rights and the families of martyrs are not subject to bargaining.

The Prime Minister has described Israel's killing of five Palestinians in Jericho earlier today as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, in which five martyrs were killed, and a number of wounded and detained, after a 10-day siege. He described this aggression as a major crime, calling on the international community to immediately hold Israel accountable for these crimes.

Dr. Shtayyeh denounced Israel's deductions from the Palestinian tax revenues, describing it as "piracy" specifically mentioning an additional monthly deduction of $15 million to raise the monthly deduction to $30 million, equivalent to the amount Israel claims the Palestinian Authority pays in allowances to prisoners and families of Palestinians killed by Israel. The Prime Minister expressed hope that the ongoing visits by US officials to the region will result in curbing Israel's political, security, religious and financial measures against Palestinians.

The Council of Ministers condemned the high rate of demolition of facilities in the so-called "C" areas, which rose in January to 134% compared to demolitions in 2022. The occupation authorities further demolished 131 facilities in the "38 Community" including 34 residential facilities that displaced 174 citizens. The Cabinet called upon the European Union countries that provide humanitarian aid to the population in those targeted areas to demand and practice serious sanctions against Israel for continuing violations of international law and international humanitarian law.
