Prime Minister, Dr. Mohammed Shtayyeh has demanded that Israel immediately cease its aggression against Palestinians in Jenin Refugee Camp, including the killing of innocent civilians, the expansion of illegal settlements, and the seizure of Palestinian tax funds. The Prime Minister emphasized the need for Israel to respect international law and abide by international legitimacy. During his speech at the Cabinet weekly meeting held in Ramallah, Dr. Shtayyeh confirmed that the money withheld by Israel belongs to the Palestinian people, and that it must be returned without extortion.

In regards to the reconstruction of the Jenin Refugee Camp, the Prime Minister Dr. Shtayyeh stated that President Mahmoud Abbas is closely following the work of the committees formed to monitor the effects of the Israeli aggression on Jenin Refugee Camp. PM emphasized that these committees operate 24 hours a day, and technical staff have been working to restore life to the refugee camp. Public works mechanisms have reopened roads, housing has been secured for those affected, and staff from the Ministries of Local Government and other related bodies are reconstructing the electricity systems that have been destroyed during the latest Israeli raid on the refugee camp. PM facilitated that work is also underway to restore water networks, and citizens are being provided with water through tanks until the end of reconstruction processes. PM highlighted that a special committee has been commissioned to lead the reconstruction process and provide direct assistance to those affected, and it is working in coordination with the UNRWA and all related Palestinian bodies, institutions, and agencies in Jenin.

In regards to donations made by partner countries for the reconstruction of the Jenin Refugee Camp, the Prime Minister explained that Algeria has donated $30 million, the UAE has donated $15 million through the UNRWA, Turkey has donated $150 thousand, and the Anira Foundation has donated $200 thousand, both of which are directed towards the Ministry of Health. Dr. Shtayyeh highlighted the efforts of Ministry of Social Development follow up on children who were traumatized, providing moral and mental relief support to those who were traumatized in the recent events in Jenin Refugee Camp.

Prime Minister Dr. Shtayyeh concluded this session by expressing his gratitude to all those who have provided assistance for the reconstruction of Jenin Refugee Camp in support of the Palestinian people and their resistance.
