
The Council of Ministers, at its 193rd meeting, stated that all settlements on our land are neither legitimate nor legal. The Prime Minister Dr. Shtayyeh urged the international community to boycott Israel and consider it an outlaw state, with its violations of international legitimacy resolutions. PM Dr. Shtayyeh emphasized Israel's decision to strengthen 9 new settlements is a challenge to American Officials who had visited the region and the Security Council resolution 2334.
Speaking at the outset of the Cabinet weekly meeting held in Ramallah, Prime Minister Dr. Shtayyeh considered the Israeli government's decision to legalize new settlement outposts in the occupied territories as part of its annexation measures an utter violation, stressing that it is time for the world to punish Israel for its defiance of United Nations resolutions and US and European policy opposed to settlements, while calling for an end to settlement activities. The Prime Minister added: "This defiance of international law and international legality must be followed by serious punishment, and accordingly, we call for punishing Israel, boycotting it, and considering it an outlaw state”. PM Dr. Shtayyeh added, "This decision is a challenge to all US officials who visited the region recently, just as it is a challenge to Security Council Resolution 2334, which criminalized settlements," expressing hope to see resolution 2334 being implemented.
The Council also discussed violations and harassment of Palestinian prisoners in occupation prisons aimed at infringing on their rights. The Council urged the International Red Cross to visit Palestinian Prisoners, to learn about their situation and to compel the occupation authorities to cease their actions in violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
The Prime Minister called for national and international unity in confronting Israeli policies, practices, and violations and its daily killings, settlements, financial blockade, demolition of homes and appropriation of lands.
