Speaking at the outset of the Cabinet weekly meeting, Prime Minister Dr. Mohammed Shtayyeh emphasized the need for unity among Palestinians in the face of the challenges that confronting them, stating that the difficult conditions they face demand a stronger and firmer international response.

Dr. Shtayyeh also expressed his strong rejection of the Israeli government's recent decision to award a tender for the management and investment of pension funds and compensation owed to Palestinian workers in Israel to a private Israeli company, calling it a clear violation of Israel's obligations under the Paris Protocol on Economic Relations. Regarding the issue of Palestinian prisoners, the Prime Minister affirmed the government's support for their struggle against the administration of occupation prisons and the actions of the Israeli government, calling for urgent intervention to protect their rights and halt extremist measures.

Dr. Shtayyeh also affirmed the government's support for Palestinians in Jerusalem, Shu 'fat camp, Anata, Jabal al-Mukaber, Ram and Al-Aisawiyah, who are struggling against Israeli racist measures and facing daily crimes committed by the occupation forces, including killing, arrests, and house demolitions.

Finally, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the African Union and African states stand in support of the Palestinian cause, the rights of the Palestinian people to end the occupation and establish an independent Palestinian State, with Jerusalem as its capital, and the right of return of refugees, which was demonstrated during the current session of the African Union Summit, in which he participated on behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas.
