
During the Council of Ministers meeting, the Prime Minister Dr. Mohammed Shtayyeh affirmed that the occupation's crimes, settler terror, and collective punishment will only strengthen our people. On the 54th anniversary of Al-Aqsa Mosque arson, PM emphasized that this act has not been extinguished, but its impact has spread to other regions around Palestine. PM Dr. Shtayyeh strongly condemned Israeli soldiers’ horrific act of carving the Star of David on a young Palestinian’s face, representing a grave form of brutality and sadism. Furthermore, the Prime Minister expressed appreciation for Venezuela's decision to elevate its Diplomatic Representation in Palestine to the level of an Embassy.
Speaking at the outset of the Cabinet weekly meeting, Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh emphasized that the ongoing aggression of the occupation, its heinous crimes, the terror caused by settlers, and collective punishments, will only strengthen our people. The Prime Minister also stressed the need to hold the perpetrators accountable for their crimes.
During this Cabinet meeting on Monday, coinciding with the 45th anniversary Al-Aqsa Mosque arose in 1969, PM Dr. Shtayyeh stated, "The flames of that fire did not diminish, but rather spread to other villages and towns in Palestine, fueled by a doctrine of destruction, erasure, and genocide, which has become a policy of this extremist government." PM Dr. Shtayyeh further emphasized, “as long as the perpetrators go unpunished, these crime will persist."
The Prime Minister highlighted that the abhorrent act carried out by occupation soldiers, carving the Star of David on the face of a young Palestinian, exemplifies the utmost brutality and sadism of the Israeli occupation. PM stressed that these actions are fueled by systematic policies of extremist elements governing Israel today, and urged for practicing legal measures against them. PM Dr. Shtayyeh further stated, "The voices of colonizers and the slogans of extremists are once again advocating for erasing the Village of Hawara and other areas in the south of Nablus”. PM emphasized that such collective punishments and ongoing escalation will not weaken our people, but rather solidify their determination.
Prime Minister concluded this session by commending the Republic of Venezuela's decision to elevate its Diplomatic Representation in Palestine to an Embassy. The Prime Minister confirmed that this decision reaffirms Venezuela's unwavering support for the Palestinian people, as well as the longstanding historical relationship and friendship between Venezuela and Palestine. The Prime Minister extended his gratitude to Venezuela, its people, and President Maduro for this momentous decision.
