
Ramallah – Prime Minister’s Office – Under the patronage and in the presence of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Mohammed Mustafa, the Minister of Finance, Omar al-Bitar and the Head of the Representative Office of Norway to Palestine, Torunn Viste, signed an agreement to support the health sector in Palestine with the equivalent of $10 million provided by Norway.
The Minister of Health Majid Abu Ramadan said, during the signing ceremony, “This agreement is dedicated to purchasing medicines and medical consumables, as well as supporting the treatment of thousands of patients in East Jerusalem hospitals, which we consider to be the frontline for the Palestinian Ministry of Health.”
“We take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the Norwegian government, the Norwegian people, and the representative office for all the support they have provided and continue to provide, as well as for their swift response,” Abu Ramadan further added.
Viste, on her part, said that the signing of this agreement aims to support the health sector in Palestine in light of the difficult conditions, and comes in line with Palestinian priorities, adding that the support will continue to be provided to build the institutions of the State of Palestine.
