Ramallah – Prime Minister’s Office – Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, met with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Barbara Leaf and discussed the latest developments in Palestine and the importance of stepping up efforts to end the Israeli genocidal war on the Palestinian people, as well as enhancing relief efforts and significantly increasing the delivery of humanitarian aid to meet the basic and urgent needs of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

During a meeting at his office in Ramallah, Prime Minister emphasized that the government has never left the Gaza Strip, as it provides all essential services, including health, education, water, and electricity, since the Palestinian National Authority was established. Mustafa asserted that the Palestinian Authority is the sole legitimate body capable of managing the Gaza Strip, which is an integral part of the Palestinian state. He stressed that discussions about a transitional period without a political and security solution would be a waste of time and red herring.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wael Zagout, Minister of Social Development Samah Hamad, and Minister of State for Relief Affairs Basil Nasser.
