Ramallah – Prime Minister’s Office - Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Mohammad Mustafa met with U.S. Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen, and discussed with him the latest developments in Palestine, efforts to stop the ongoing Israeli war of genocide against the Palestinian people, and enhancing relief efforts and the delivery of emergency aid to Gaza. The meeting was also attended by Minister of Interior Ziad Hab al-Reeh and Minister of Justice Sharhabil al-Zaim.

Prime Minister Mustafa briefed Senator Van Hollen on the government’s preparations to launch several initiatives aimed at improving service quality and governance. These initiatives encompass energy security, healthcare, education, finance, digital transformation, economic growth, and development.

Mustafa also emphasized the critical role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), stressing the necessity of preserving it and ensuring its continued services to Palestinian refugees amidst the vicious Israeli campaign it faces.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the Palestinian National Authority has never left Gaza and that the government remains responsible for providing essential services such as healthcare, education, water, and electricity in the Gaza Strip. He pointed out that ongoing efforts are underway to develop plans for comprehensive reconstruction process, humanitarian relief assistance, and the unification of Palestinian institutions between Gaza and the West Bank.
