Ramallah – Prime Minister’s Office - Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, met with Antoine Renard, the Representative and Country Director of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in Palestine, at his office in Ramallah, during which he formally received and accepted Renard’s credentials to commence official duties in the State of Palestine. The meeting was also attended by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Varsen Aghabekian Shahin.

During the meeting, Renard briefed the Prime Minister on the WFP's operations, particularly amid the ongoing Israeli genocidal war against the Palestinian people. He highlighted the provision of food aid to more than 1.3 million people in Gaza and the West Bank who are facing severe and difficult conditions, including a lack of access to water and other essential supplies.

Prime Minister Mustafa underscored the importance of continued coordination with relevant ministries such as Social Development, Labor, and National Economy, alongside international relief organizations operating in Palestine. He emphasized the need to maximize available resources to reach as many beneficiaries as possible and to enhance relief efforts across the country.

Mustafa also discussed with Renard the significance of sourcing aid from local markets in the West Bank to stimulate the struggling Palestinian economy, which is facing significant challenges due to restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation. They further explored ways to intensify efforts in bringing more aid into Gaza by expanding access through more border crossings and ensuring delivery to all areas of the Strip.
