Ramallah – Prime Minister’s Office - Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, discussed with the Foreign Minister of the Netherlands, Caspar Veldkamp, advancing efforts to stop the Israeli genocidal war against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the attacks and escalation by the Israeli occupation forces and settlers in the West Bank.

During a meeting at his office in Ramallah, Mustafa stressed the need for the European Union and its member states to take actual and serious steps against Israeli settlement activities and settlers in the West Bank. He called for increased pressure to stop all Israeli actions, including the financial and economic siege, illegal deductions from Palestinian tax revenues, and releasing the Palestinian funds Israel illegally withholds.

The Prime Minister valued the bilateral relations between the Palestine and the Netherlands, underscoring the importance of further strengthening these relations, ultimately leading to the official recognition of the State of Palestine. He also conveyed appreciation to the Netherlands for their relief aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza since the onset of the Israeli aggression.

Mustafa affirmed that the Government has developed a comprehensive plan to be implemented immediately after the Israeli aggression on Gaza stops. The plan focuses on urgent relief, restoring basic services, reintegrating and reunifying national institutions, and a comprehensive reconstruction program. He reiterated that, since the establishment of the Palestinian Authority, the government has been consistently responsible for providing all essential services in Gaza—ranging inter alia from education and healthcare to water, electricity, and daily needs—without any interruption, despite all the challenges.

For his part, the Dutch Foreign Minister stressed the importance of achieving a ceasefire in Gaza, ensuring the entry of emergency relief and medical aid, stopping the aggression in the West Bank by the Israeli occupation army and settlers, and maintaining and respecting the historical status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The meeting was also attended by State Minister for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Varsen Aghabekian, Dutch Representative to Palestine Michel Rentenaar, Ambassador Dr. Amal Jadou, Ambassador Dr. Omar Awadallah, and Director of the Government Communication Center Dr. Mohammad Abu Al-Rub.
