Amman – Prime Minister’s Office - The Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee, entrusted to launch international action to stop the Israeli war on Gaza, held a coordination meeting in the Jordanian capital, Amman, with the participation of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, to enhance Arab, Islamic and international efforts to in support of establishing the independent Palestinian state and ending the Israeli occupation.

The meeting reviewed the achievements of the previous stage and highlighted the committee’s significant efforts, including the recent ministerial meeting in Madrid and the important statement that emerged from it, which reaffirmed the commitment to the two-state solution. The committee also discussed joint Arab-Islamic action during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly session in New York later this month, aimed at halting the Israeli occupation’s aggression on Gaza Strip and escalation in the West Bank.

The Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee was formed following a decision by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit held in Riyadh on November 11 last year. The committee is tasked with spearheading immediate international action on behalf of all member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League to stop the war on Gaza and press for the launch of a serious and genuine political process to achieve lasting and comprehensive peace based on international references.

Since its formation, the committee has conducted 14 visits to capitals of the permanent members of the UN Security Council and European capitals. It has held meetings with heads of state, governments, and foreign ministers to build international support for stopping the war on Gaza, protecting civilians, ensuring the sustainable and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid across the entire the Gaza Strip, as well as taking and advancing concrete steps toward implementing the two-state solution.

Under the chairmanship of the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee on Gaza is comprised of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State of Palestine, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the State of Qatar, the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Indonesia, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, and the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
