New York – Prime Minister’s Office - Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, took part in the meeting of the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee, entrusted to launch international action to stop the Israeli war on Gaza, at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

Mustafa emphasized the importance of implementing the resolution submitted by the State of Palestine, which was adopted by the UN General Assembly. This resolution demands that Israel end its unlawful presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, in accordance with the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice regarding the illegality of the Israeli occupation and the need to end it as soon as possible.

The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of supporting the Government of Palestine and its plans for the reconstruction of Palestine, especially the Gaza Strip, immediately after ending the Israeli occupation’s aggression.

The Committee’s meeting builds on the outcomes of a prior meeting held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan last week, and aims to address regional developments and efforts to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza, as well as the escalation in the West Bank.

Additionally, the meeting addressed ongoing preparations for the upcoming ministerial meeting on "Stopping the Aggression on Gaza and Implementing the Two-State Solution," which will be hosted by the Committee alongside the European Union and Norway later this week.

The Prime Minister is set to hold additional meetings on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly to mobilize international support to end the aggression against the Palestinian people, coordinate positions and strengthen joint cooperation.
