Prime Minister Mustafa and Armenian Foreign Minister sign communique to establish diplomatic relations between Palestine and Armenia

New York – Prime Minister’s Office - Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Mohammad Mustafa and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan signed a joint declaration on establishing diplomatic relations between the State of Palestine and the Republic of Armenia.

Mustafa praised the Republic of Armenia's recognition of the State of Palestine, which stems from a belief in the principles of equality, sovereignty, and peaceful coexistence among peoples. He deemed it a genuine investment in peace and a practical step in support of the two-state solution, on the path to ending the Israeli occupation and realizing an independent Palestinian state.

The Prime Minister lauded the deep historical and fraternal relations between the Armenian and Palestinian peoples, expressing appreciation to Armenia for its positive vote in favour of resolutions related to Palestine. He affirmed that the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries is intended to strengthen bilateral ties at all official and popular levels.

At the conclusion of his meetings in New York, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, the Prime Minister met with the Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, and the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco, Nasser Bourita, where he discussed with them the coordination of joint positions and the mobilization of efforts regarding the Palestinian action in international fora in order to stop the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian  people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem. He also addressed the importance of supporting Palestinian efforts to obtain full UN membership, as well as the practical steps needed to implement the recent UN resolution demanding an end to the Israeli occupation within 12 months.
