Ramallah – Prime Minister’s Office - Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, received a European Parliament delegation in his office in Ramallah, where he briefed them on the latest developments in the Palestinian Territory in light of the ongoing Israeli genocidal war against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and escalating attacks by Israeli occupation forces and settlers in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

Mustafa emphasized the importance of the European Parliament’s support for the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution and the UN General Assembly’s resolution regarding the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion on ending the occupation within a set timeframe and the realization of the establishment of the independent Palestinian state.

The Prime Minister called on the European Parliament to take further practical steps against Israeli settlement expansion, which is in violation of international law and a major obstacle to the implementation of the two-state solution.

He also stressed the urgent need to confront Israel’s decision to ban UNRWA operations—a move aimed at politically erasing the right of Palestinian refugees to return, while worsening the already critical humanitarian situation in the Palestinian Territory, particularly in Gaza, where refugees make up over 70% of the population. As the primary provider of essential services in refugee camps, UNRWA plays a crucial role in relief and humanitarian efforts across Gaza, and is the entity that carries out the largest part of this effort there. This role has become even more vital amid the ongoing Israeli genocidal war.

Mustafa highlighted that, in addition to the genocidal war against the Palestinian people, Israel is waging a "financial war" against Palestine, and continues its illegal deductions from Palestinian tax revenues.

He expressed appreciation for the European Union’s support for Palestine and reaffirmed the importance of strengthening partnership and cooperation with the European Parliament and the EU at all levels.

The delegation, which included Sweden’s European Parliament member and permanent rapporteur on Palestinian, Evin Incir; Giacomo Filibeck, Secretary-General of the Party of European Socialists from Italy; and Hana Mouro, Vice-Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee and member of the European Parliament from Spain, expressed their support for Palestine and the rights of the Palestinian people within the European Parliament, emphasizing their support for joint cooperation and commitment to regional peace efforts.
