Ramallah, Prime Minister’s Office — President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas chaired the Cabinet session at the presidential headquarters in the city of Ramallah.

The President briefed the Cabinet on the latest developments in the political situation and the efforts made to stop the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, in accordance with UN Resolution 2735, which calls for a ceasefire, the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip, the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and enabling the State of Palestine to assume its full responsibilities in the Gaza Strip as well as in the West Bank.

The President also briefed the Cabinet on the efforts made to bring about an end to the Israeli attacks in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, as well as to implement the UN General Assembly resolution on the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice on ending the Israeli occupation and settlement activity.

President Abbas affirmed his full support for the Government's efforts to develop governmental work in a manner that serves the interests of citizens and alleviates their suffering amid the challenging circumstances caused by ongoing Israeli occupation aggression. He emphasized the provision of all available resources to assist our people in Gaza, who are facing a war of genocide perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of strengthening the steadfastness of citizens on their land, improving the services provided to them, bolstering the steadfastness of Palestinians in Jerusalem who face continuous challenges, advancing the building of state institutions, and strengthening the national economy.

He further stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors, and civil society institutions, in a way that contributes to strengthening the steadfastness of the citizens, stressing the importance of implementing the plans in place, so that the citizens can see their positive results on the ground.

For his part, Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa provided a detailed report on the key interventions and efforts undertaken by the Government since its formation. He outlined measures to strengthen coordination with international and relief organizations to facilitate the delivery of aid to Gaza, including fuel supplies for hospitals, desalination plants, and wastewater treatment facilities. He also highlighted the Government's continued financial allocations to the Gaza Strip despite Israeli deductions, the expansion of social protection programs, and efforts to enhance the e-learning system.

In addition to relief efforts, the Prime Minister highlighted the Government's plans for the post-aggression phase, including the provision of temporary housing, the expansion of relief activities, and the initiation of reconstruction efforts.

Regarding the Government’s efforts in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, the Prime Minister outlined initiatives to strengthen the steadfastness of Palestinian citizens, as well as emergency interventions to address the aftermath of repeated Israeli incursions, including repairing infrastructure, restoring essential services, and providing temporary housing for affected citizens, particularly in refugee camps in northern West Bank.

On another note, the Cabinet approved to contract with the World Health Organization to procure emergency medical supplies for hospitals in Gaza at a value of $2.3 million. Additionally, it endorsed the implementation of a program to enhance mental health and family services in the Gaza Strip, valued at $4.8 million, as part of the project aimed at improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Palestinian healthcare system, implemented by the Ministry of Health with funding from the World Bank.
