Prime Minister Mustafa discusses cooperation, reconstruction efforts with EU Commissioner for Mediterranean Affairs

Ramallah, Prime Minister's Office: Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa discussed on Thursday with EU Commissioner for Mediterranean Affairs, Dubravka Šuica, the latest developments in Palestine in light of the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza and escalating attacks by Israeli occupation forces and settlers in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

During a phone call, the Prime Minister called for intensified international pressure to halt the Israeli occupation's crimes and and facilitate greater delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in the war-torn Strip.

The Prime Minister congratulated Commissioner Šuica on her recent appointment, expressing confidence in her ability to make substantial progress in her pivotal role. He commended her exceptional contributions to fostering Euro-Mediterranean cooperation and extended gratitude to the European Commission for its longstanding collaboration with the Palestinian Government, which has led to notable achievements in joint initiatives.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with the EU Commission for Mediterranean Affairs, particularly efforts in Gaza reconstruction. He highlighted the urgent need for international coordinationto to mobilize resources to rebuild areas devastated by the Israeli occupation aggression, ensure better living conditions for Palestinians affected, thereby fostering regional stability.

Commissioner Šuica affirmed the EU's commitment to supporting the Palestinian Government in its efforts across the West Bank and Gaza. She stressed the EU’s dedication to working with international partners to provide the necessary aid, promote development, and advance reconstruction efforts, aiming to improve the living conditions for the Palestinian people and support their legitmate aspirations for peace and stability.
