Ramallah, Prime Minister’s Office – Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa discussed, on Monday, with Sweden's Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, Benjamin Dosa, efforts to end Israeli aggression, strengthen humanitarian relief, and advance development and reconstruction, in the presence of Minister of National Economy Mohammad al-Amour and Swedish Consul General, Julius Liljeström.

During a meeting at his office in Ramallah, the Prime Minister stressed that the Israeli occupation continues to be the primary obstacle to development, reform, and stability in Palestine. He highlighted the Government's persistent efforts to navigate and overcome the difficult realities imposed by the Israeli occupation, including economic and security challenges, as well as continued measures and attacks on Gaza and the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

“We have an ambitious national development agenda. Since day one for the Government, we have prioritized and worked on an institutional reform program that has received support from the international community. We are doing everything possible to end the Israeli aggression, bolster humanitarian relief and recovery efforts, and advance economic conditions to create an environment conducive to investment and job creation,” Mustafa underscored.

He emphasized the critical importance of supporting international organizations, particularly UNRWA, in light of the fierce Israeli occupation’s attacks against it. He stressed the need to ensure the Agency’s continuity, and prevent all attempts to weaken or replace it.

The Prime Minister expressed deep appreciation for Sweden’s consistent support for Palestine over the years, stressing the importance of working together to promote and achieve peace, stability, and development.

For his part, the Swedish Minister affirmed support for humanitarian and relief efforts in Gaza, including pressure for the secure and unimpeded delivery of aid to all those in need. He voiced rejection of the Israeli occupation's measures and settler attacks in the West Bank, while stressing support for the Palestinian Government’s efforts in development and reform.
