Ramallah, Prime Minister’s Office – Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammad Mustafa met with Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis on Monday in his office in Ramallah, where he briefed him on the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian Territory amidst the escalating Israeli occupation aggression and actions in the West Bank, especially in the northern governorates and refugee camps.

Mustafa highlighted Israel’s systematic destruction of infrastructure, homes, and structures, the forced displacement of citizens, and severe movement restrictions imposed on Palestinian towns and villages. He also outlined the Palestinian Government's humanitarian relief efforts and emergency response in the Gaza Strip to meet the urgent needs of the Palestinian people there.

The Prime Minister expressed appreciation to Greece for its humanitarian support to Gaza and its financial contributions to support UNRWA, emphasizing the strong friendship and deep ties between the two countries.

Mustafa underscored Greece’s pivotal role, particularly as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council since the beginning of the year, in advancing the implementation of international resolutions on Palestine, including UN Security Council Resolution 2735, which demands ending the Israeli aggression, ending occupation, and realizing Palestinian statehood. He also commended Greece’s consistent support for Palestine in international forums and urged Greek backing for Palestine’s bid for full UN membership.

The Prime Minister called for increased international pressure on Israel, the occupying Power, to enforce a permanent and sustainable ceasefire and to end its occupation of Palestinian lands.

He further reaffirmed the Government’s readiness and ongoing implementation of its emergency relief and response plans in Gaza, laying the groundwork for reconstruction.

Mustafa and Gerapetritis also discussed strengthening bilateral relations, convening the joint governmental committee, and maintaining political consultations between the two countries.
