Prime Minister Mustafa discusses strengthening cooperation with UN official to provide temporary shelter, restore services, and support early recovery in Gaza

Ramallah, February 12, 2025, Prime Minister’s Office – Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa discussed today, Wednesday, in his office in Ramallah with Jorge Moreira, UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), enhancing joint efforts to implement the Government's Relief, Early Recovery, and Emergency Response Plan to meet the needs of the Palestinian people in Gaza. The Prime Minister was joined by Minister of Public Works and Housing Ahed Bseiso and Minister of Social Development and Relief Samah Hamad.

The Prime Minister emphasized that, in addition to ongoing humanitarian relief efforts, the top priorities for early recovery include debris removal and road clearance, the restoration of essential services, the provision of renewable energy solutions, temporary shelter, repairs for partially damaged homes, and the revival of economic activity and production.

For his part, Moreira reaffirmed the commitment to providing all available resources and maintaining close coordination to support the Government's relief and early recovery efforts. He also discussed preparations for signing a memorandum of understanding to facilitate these efforts, as well as efforts to expedite the entry of urgent needs, including temporary shelters such as tents and mobile housing units (caravans).
