Ramallah, Office of the Prime Minister – Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammad Mustafa met on Monday with Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, at his office in Ramallah. The meeting, attended by Minister of Social Development Samah Hamad and Italian Consul General Domenico Bellato, focused on discussing support for Government efforts in relief, recovery, and reconstruction in the war-torn Gaza Strip. 

Prime Minister Mustafa commended Italy's consistent support for Palestine and emphasized the significance of this visit, which coincides with the cessation of the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza, as well as with  intensified humanitarian and relief operations there. 

He outlined the Government's relief, emergency response, and early recovery plan for Gaza, which was prepared months ago. The plan, designed to address priorities and needs over the next six months, aims to cover relief efforts, early recovery, and the restoration of essential services across various sectors. Mustafa stressed the importance of coordinating all efforts through the institutions of the State of Palestine to maximize efficiency and impact. 

The Prime Minister also briefed Tajani on ongoing efforts alongside relief and restoration of services, including preparations underway to establish an independent agency for Gaza reconstruction, as well as efforts to hold an international donor conference for reconstruction, in coordination with donors and international organizations. 

For his part, Tajani reaffirmed Italy's commitment to supporting Palestine and the Palestinian Government's plans for relief and economic recovery through the provision of additional aid to Gaza, supporting the restoration of essential services such as water and energy, as well as reconstruction and private sector recovery efforts.

Tajani also reiterated Italy's support for maintaining the ceasefire, ensuring stability, and achieving peace in the region, paving the way for the realization of the Palestinian state.
