Brussels, Prime Minister's Office — Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa discussed with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Ms. Kaja Kallas, the importance of working on a political track along with the humanitarian, relief and reconstruction efforts once the Israeli aggression on Gaza comes to an end.

During a meeting on Friday in Brussels, Prime Minister Mustafa stressed the need to advance a political track aimed at ending the occupation, implementing the two-State solution, and realizing the establishment of the State of Palestine, particularly through the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, which presents a vital opportunity to revive the peace process.

He underscored the importance of implementing UN resolutions concerning Palestine, particularly Security Council Resolution 2735, to halt the aggression and ensure the immediate and unhindered delivery of aid to the Palestinian people. This, he noted, would pave the way for restoring essential services such as healthcare and education, ultimately leading to reconstruction and development, and reunifying institutions between the West Bank and Gaza as integral parts of the State of Palestine.

Prime Minister Mustafa outlined the Government's plans and efforts, directed by President Mahmoud Abbas, to commence work in Gaza immediately after the aggression ends.

Mustafa emphasized the readiness of state institutions to take charge of relief efforts for the Palestinian people in Gaza alongside the West Bank. This will involve restoring essential services, providing humanitarian and relief aid, and embarking on comprehensive reconstruction under the "Build Palestine Plan," currently being developed in collaboration with the World Bank.

He also highlighted the Government's ongoing institutional reform, development, and governance efforts, as well as progress achieved, including the implementation of the National Development and Reform Program for 2025-2026.

Prime Minister Mustafa stressed the pivotal role of UNRWA, which is irreplaceable, in providing essential services to Palestinian refugees, emphasizing the need to counter Israel’s attempts to undermine and dismantle the agency.

He expressed appreciation for the EU’s continuous political and financial support, underscoring the importance of expediting the multi-year emergency aid package to address the severe financial crisis caused by Israeli occupation measures and deductions from Palestinian clearance revenues.

For her part, Ms. Kallas reaffirmed the importance of achieving a ceasefire in Gaza and reiterated the EU’s readiness to support the Palestinian Authority and the Government’s efforts, particularly in Gaza, in the period ahead.
