RAMALLAH, March 19, 2025 (Prime Minister’s Office) – Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa met today, Wednesday, at his office in Ramallah with ANDO Toshihide, Japan’s Assistant Foreign Minister/Director-General, Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau, in the presence of Ambassador ARAIKE Katsuhiko, Japan’s Representative to Palestine.

The meeting focused on the latest developments in Palestine, including the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the escalating Israeli occupation army and settler attacks in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

Prime Minister Mustafa underscored the urgent need for international support to secure a sustainable ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, commence reconstruction efforts, and unify all Palestinian territories under the State of Palestine, based on one system, one law, and a single legitimate authority.

He reaffirmed that ending the occupation and achieving a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-State solution remains the only viable path forward.

The Prime Minister also expressed appreciation for Japan’s steadfast support and the contributions of international partners in humanitarian and relief efforts, as well as for their support to the Government’s institutional reform and development efforts aimed at enhancing public services and strengthening public trust.

For his part, Assistant Foreign Minister Toshihide reiterated Japan’s unwavering commitment to the two-State solution and emphasized the urgent need to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza.

He also reaffirmed Japan’s rejection of Israeli settlement and settlement expansion, calling for a halt to all settlement activities in the West Bank.

Additionally, he expressed Japan’s support for the Government of Palestine’s reconstruction efforts, and institutional reforms and development.
