Two years into Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza

Meeting at Emergency Operations Room to review response and preparedness for the coming period with the participation of UN representatives, ambassadors, and international partners

RAMALLAH, October 7, 2025 | Prime Minister’s Office – Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa affirmed on Tuesday the Government’s readiness to implement immediate and urgent interventions as soon as the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip ends, stressing the importance of joint work with international partners in emergency response, restoring essential services, and providing immediate relief in preparation for launching comprehensive reconstruction efforts.

The Prime Minister made these remarks during a meeting held at the Government Operations Room for Emergency Interventions for the southern governorates (Gaza Strip) to review the latest humanitarian and field developments, the emergency response plan, and the operational readiness of the Operations Room for the coming period. The meeting was attended by several ministers as well as international and local partners.

"It has been two years since the war on Gaza began, and our people have endured extremely difficult times," the Prime Minister said. “We renew, as the Government of the State of Palestine, our full commitment to our people in Gaza and our determination to do everything in our power to support them and stand by their side. We also hope to reverse the course of destruction and begin a new phase of recovery and reconstruction.”

Mustafa extended, on behalf of the President, sincere appreciation to the partners in the international community, the local civil society, the private sector, international organizations, and UN agencies for their dedicated efforts throughout the past two years.

He called on the international community to renew its commitment and support for the upcoming phase, which is about to begin, urging preparedness to face the challenges that lie ahead.

The Prime Minister also expressed hope that the ongoing efforts in Eygpt's Sharm El-Sheikh will yield positive outcomes, leading to an immediate ceasefire, the exchange of prisoners and hostages, the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, and the start of the process to reunify Palestinian institutions in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as the implementation of joint plans for humanitarian aid, emergency response, recovery, and reconstruction.

For their part, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator for the Occupied Palestinian Territory reaffirmed the United Nations’ commitment to support the Government in implementing relief, recovery, and reconstruction plans in coordination with all partners. The ambassadors of Jordan and Egypt also reiterated their countries’ support for efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire and advancing reconstruction.

Meanwhile, the Ministers of Health, Education, Planning, Public Works and Housing, and Social Development reviewed their ministries’ efforts over the past two years, as well as their operational plans to be implemented immediately once the aggression is brought to an end.
