PM called on all parties to facilitate the work of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza during this transitional phase.

RAMALLAH, January 18, 2026 | Prime Minister’s Office— Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa met on Sunday at his office in Ramallah with the European Union’s Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process, Christophe Bigot, to discuss the latest political developments and the situation on the ground in Palestine. The meeting was attended by Minister of Finance and Planning Estephan Salameh.

Prime Minister Mustafa stressed the importance of supporting UN Security Council resolutions on Palestine—particularly the most recent resolutions concerning the Gaza Strip—including the need to open border crossings, provide temporary shelter and reconstruction supplies, intensify humanitarian relief efforts, remove rubble, and support economic recovery.

He also called on all parties—especially the Israeli side—to facilitate the work of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza during this transitional phase, enable it through the opening of crossings, and support its mission to alleviate the suffering of our people.

Prime Minister Mustafa reiterated the commitment to the geographic, legal, and political unity of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip under the authority of the State of Palestine. He further called for increased international pressure to secure the release of Palestinian clearance revenues withheld by Israel and to halt all Israeli measures in the West Bank, including settler violence.

Mustafa expressed appreciation for the European Union’s continued support for Palestine across all levels.

For his part, Christophe Bigot reaffirmed Europe’s commitment to supporting the two-State solution and the realization of the Palestinian state, as well as its continued support for Palestinian institutions and the Palestinian people—particularly in the political, economic, and humanitarian domains.
