RAMALLAH, August 11, 2026 | Government Communication Center — Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa opened today’s weekly Cabinet meeting by emphasizing the need for all government institutions to operate at full capacity to address citizens’ urgent needs amid the escalating attacks by settler militias Israeli occupation forces (IOF), particularly in areas facing intensified targeting. He stressed the importance of maintaining essential services, particularly water and electricity, following repeated settler attacks against vital infrastructure and continued Israeli occupation reductions in the quantities of water and electricity supplied.

The Cabinet warned of the continued escalation of settler crimes across Palestinian governorates, particularly repeated attacks on al-Mughayyir, Tell, Sarra, Beit Dajan, Khalayel al-Louz, Masafer Yatta, and other targeted areas. According to data from the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, more than 504 attacks were carried out by Israeli settler militias and IOF during the past week alone. The escalation also included widespread demolitions targeting dozens of Palestinian structures and properties across various governorates, including the large-scale demolition of commercial structures along the Jenin-Nablus road earlier today. In addition, orders were issued for the confiscation of more than 316 dunums of Palestinian land during a single week.

During the meeting, the Cabinet also stressed the urgent need to ensure the safe, regular, and unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance and essential supplies to our people in Gaza, including food, water, shelter materials, and medicine, amid international warnings over continued severe shortages and deteriorating living conditions displaced people, particularly those sheltering in makeshifts tents, who continue to face repeated forced displacement and increasingly difficult conditions amid extreme heatwaves.

The Cabinet welcomed the opening yesterday of the Northern Field Hospital in Gaza by the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), under the patronage and in the presence of Prime Minister Mustafa via videoconference. The facility is the sixth hospital established and operated by PRCS in Gaza to serve the Palestinian people in Gaza. Days earlier, the Prime Minister conducted a virtual tour of several projects in Gaza being implemented by the Government in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), including shelter, rubble removal, water wells, and economic recovery projects.

In this regard, the Cabinet underscored the importance of the urgent appeal issued yesterday, Monday, by the Ministries of Social Development and Relief Affairs to the international community, UN and humanitarian organizations, and donors to support thousands of families who have lost their sources of income and productive assets, particularly those dependent on small businesses, trades, crafts, and self-employment. Such support would contribute to recovery, restore livelihoods, and strengthen households’ self-reliance and resilience in the face of the crisis.

As part of the Government’s broader institutional development and reform agenda, the Cabinet approved the recommendations of the committee tasked with reviewing legislation governing the Ministry of Transport. It subsequently conducted a first reading of regulations governing the import of new and used vehicles, engineering equipment, and trailers, with the aim of enhancing transparency and ensuring consumer protection.

The Cabinet also approved the renewal of contracts with law firms and legal service providers to strengthen legal defense and support for the Palestinian people in Jerusalem amid the escalating Israeli occupation campaign involving demolitions, property confiscations, and other measures targeting Jerusalemites.

As part of its ongoing reform efforts, the Cabinet approved recommendations of the Standing Ministerial Committee on Reform and conducted a first reading of the E-Procurement Regulations for Government Institutions, aimed at enhancing transparency and ensuring equal opportunities.

The Cabinet also approved a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Industry and Technology of Türkiye and the Palestinian Ministry of Industry, establishing a framework for cooperation and coordination in the industrial sector.
