Speaking at the outset of the cabinet weekly meeting held in Ramallah, Prime minister Dr. Shtayyeyh called on Palestinians everywhere, in Palestine and in the diaspora, and all supporters of the Palestinian cause, in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their struggle, to go out on May 15th to the streets, demanding an end to the injustice occupation in Palestine, and to affirm Palestinians inalienable rights, foremost of which is their right to self-determination, freedom and right of return.
The Prime Minister added, that preparations for the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Nakba have been completed and that it will be commemorated for the first time in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) with the participation of President Mahmoud Abbas. PM further expressed his hopes towards international action against the ethnic cleansing practiced by the Israeli apartheid regime against Palestinians.
The Prime Minister concluded this session by thanking the Patriarch of Antioch, the Supreme Head of the Syriac Orthodox Church, on their historic visit of the Patriarch, and further condemned the unprecedented escalation by the Israeli occupation of killings and field executions against Palestinians, the last of which was the assassination of six young Palestinians few days ago in Nablus and Tulkarm. PM sent his heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Council Minister to the families of the martyrs.
